Electrospinning from an external syringe

To prepare electrospinning procedure from external syringe follow the steps:

1. Make sure that the high voltage emitter is turned off (B7 button does not light) and open the chamber door (A3).
   Note: if the high voltage is turned on, press B3 High Voltage ON button once.
   Warning: If the high voltage was previously activated wait at least 5 minutes before touching or replacing the installed spinneret needle (emitter) after opening the chamber door to avoid electrical shock.
2. Gently place the collector plate to both top and bottom nuts of the collector holder (G1), then slide the plate and push it to the stop.
3. Install a syringe with polymer in cubepump unit, as described in Change and install syringes section and push the tubing through E2 bushing.
4. Assemble the emitter needle: follow the steps of fitting assembly (Connect fluid connectors section). Tighten the fitting (d) to the needle holder (b) with ferrule (c) facing towards the holder. Insert the spinneret needle (a) to the free end of the holder (b) and rotate clockwise.
5. Push the emitter needle through the emitter holder. Tighten the emitter fastener screw clockwise to fix the spinneret needle.
6. Apply the crocodile clip (H1) to the spinneret. Make sure that the clip connects to the metal surface.
7. Close the chamber door to start the electrospinning process.
